The LC&N Nesquehoning Breaker was a short
distance west of the town of Nesquehoning. It was situated along the CNJ's Nesquehoning Branch,
a line which ran
to a connection with the RDG at Haucks. This LC&N colliery was served by
both the L&NE and the CNJ. - postcard view, circa 1910 - Greg Buchala

Nesquehoning sat at the foot of Indian Mountain (upper
right) in the Nesquehoning Valley. The LC&N Nesquehoning
Breaker was on the north side of Nesquehoning Mountain (lower right) near
its base. Originally this mining area had been served by the gravity Rhume
Run Railroad (1833-1870) and later the Nesquehoning Creek Railroad,
which eventually became the Nesquehoning Branch of the Lehigh &
Susquehanna Railroad and finally, the Nesquehoning Branch of the
CNJ's Lehigh & Susquehanna Division. In this aerial view the Lehigh River and the town of East
Mauch Chunk lie in the distance. eastward view, March 28, 1988
